The Accreditation Team is composed of team members with diverse backgrounds - committed to improving patient and staff safety. Our core work is ensuring that the organization is meeting the requirements set forth by regulatory bodies to ensure safe patient care. This is accomplished through collaboration with clinical and non-clinical teams and ongoing evaluation of practice compared to regulatory standards. Team members enjoy a flexible schedule and fun working environment. Members of the accreditation team are informal leaders throughout the organization - and have an opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, teams, and departments throughout the Fargo region and within the enterprise. This role is an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth within the organization - as you will receive broad exposure to different facets of healthcare.

Job Summary

Collaborates with operational and executive leadership ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies to include, but not limited to: Department of Health (DOH), Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Conditions of Participation, and standards of The Joint Commission (TJC). The Accreditation Specialist works with staff, evaluating care, to ensure regulatory compliance. Evaluates patient safety systems ensuring safe reliable care. Promotes systems designed to reduce the opportunity for human failure in order to achieve a goal of zero harm. Understands and supports an organizational culture of safety. Participates in robust process improvement, utilizing a systematic approach to change management, focused on reducing patient safety and regulatory risk. Supports process change from education through sustainability. Collaborates with all levels of leadership to communicate needs and remove barriers for staff. Guides regulatory perspective to committees as applicable. Requires a self-motivated individual who values patient and staff safety as the top organizational priority. Knowledge and/or an interest in safe systems and High Reliability Organizations necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. In lieu of education, leadership may consider an Associate's degree and 5 years of applicable experience. If degree is in nursing, graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program, including but not limited to, Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).

Minimum of two years of experience in clinical, nursing, healthcare safety, accreditation or healthcare management setting required.

Certification in regulatory accreditation, patient safety or quality specialty or equivalent required within three years of hire date. must obtain within three years of hire date. If a licensed registered nurse (RN), currently hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Quality improvement/assurance personnel with nursing backgrounds can maintain their license without seeking additional hours based on role's responsibilities.
